As per subject title and as you already know, there is recorded dummy conversation heard between time ATC gaps.
This is a long time heritage since FS8 era and continues still today with P3Dv5.
So, I wonder if you could do something to eliminate it, as it is annoying especially during long flights.
I am not fully aware of what you refer to with dummy conversation:
Is it one of the following:
- The background sound playing when ATC is speaking (pilots have engine noise in the background instead). If so EditVoicepack can’t remove it as is – but it might be possible to add as a new feature.
- The communication with other planes? The only way I know to remove this is to set AI traffic percentage to 0. With no other planes in the air, the controllers should be quiet unless talking to you.
There is a gvp decompiler here: http://mormegil.wz.cz/flying/gvpdeco/gvpdeco_en.htm
You will find the background audio loop I mentioned in the gvp file – it might be the same played at full volume in your case, I never paid much attention to what was in that audio track.
Besides that I do not recall finding anything similar inside the file – but there are thousands of files and I am always processing in bulk so I might have missed it.
I do not thing people doing for example ATC tutorials on YouTube would edit out the sound, so I think it is not present on all systems. There are not many settings on the user interface, but there might be a pesky in file setting somewhere – but I would not know where.
Of course I used FS ATC, why do you think I wrote EditVoicepack if I would not have used FS ATC?
There are many YouTube videos where full flights are done with FS ATC. Can you find one that includes this audio?
I just spend half an hour listening to various ones, and nothing – they sound the same way as ATC has always sounded to me. If this is a common problem, I would expect it to be easy to find it on YouTube videos – but maybe I am just unlucky, so please send me the name of the video and the timestamp if I missed something obvious.
