If you can’t install, uninstall, or running EditVoicepack XL please try the following steps.
- Ensure you are using the latest version of EditVoicepack available here.
- If it is uninstall of an older version of EditVoicepack that is failing, try installing the latest version without uninstalling first. Then reboot the computer and try uninstalling again.
- Disable MSI Afterburner if you have it.
- Installation errors and crashes when starting EditVoicepack have been observed with MSI Afterburner enabled.
- Check your antivirus product is not flagging EditVoicepack. If it is:
- Locate your anti-virus vendors web page allowing you to submit a potential false positive file. You can use Google to locate this page. If you for example use Avast you can search for:
Avast false positive - Upload your EditVoicepack installer file.
- Wait for feedback from the anti-virus vendor.
- If they report the file does contain a Trojan or virus, please contact support@editvoicepack.com.
- If they report the file is “clean”, you typically have to wait a few hours/days until they distribute the next virus signature files where the false alarm is corrected.
- Locate your anti-virus vendors web page allowing you to submit a potential false positive file. You can use Google to locate this page. If you for example use Avast you can search for:
- Check Windows system files.
Microsoft provides a tool to check and repair problems with Windows system files. For instructions on how to run this tool, please refer to the Microsoft support topic: Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files. - Try following the instructions here: Restoring your flight simulators original ATC voice files.
- If you do not have a file with the extension “.evpOrg” in the indicated location continue with the step below in this list – do not delete any files from your flight simulator installations.
- Fix installation/uninstallation problems.
