I followed the instruction to add a call sign, but fsx-se isn’t seeing it. What do I need to do in fsx-se to make it work?
If you use AIG AI Manager, then please make sure you disable the voicepack included with it. The developer thought it would be a fabulous idea to use EditVoicepack to create an addon that is not compatible with EditVoicepack. If you are not using AIG AI Manager, then please try to change the speed of the voicepacks in EditVoicepack – this will force EditVoicepack to regenerate the voicefiles from scratch. If this does not work, please check the following:
- Do other EditVoicepack callsigns work. Try for example “Cimber”. If they do not work, check EditVoicepack is applied to the correct installation folders.
- Did you create voice segments for all voices? If not, you would see the correct callsign in the text, but not hear it for all (maybe most) voices.
- Check you have a flight number assigned. For your own aircraft this is done in the UI settings for your aircraft. For AI traffic, it is embedded in the flightplan bgl files. Without a callsign ATC will always use aircraft type – tailnumber.
Tried updating. Didn’t help. I followed the instructions, but FSX-SE ATC is still saying the type of aircraft (Embraer) instead of the new Telephony Designator “Atlantic Sun”.
I added a third troubleshoot option based based on the additional information you provided.
Third option was it. Thanks so much.
