I know FS2004 may seem obsolete these days but it runs far better than FSX on my 7 year old PC so I’ve stuck with it. My problem is that the FS2004 version of EVP will no longer run. I have re-installed it and it all looks intact, but nothing happens even trying to run as an administrator. If you are still prepared to help that would be wonderful.

Unfortunately it is very limited what I can do to troubleshoot something like that. I no longer have access to run it myself.
You can check the event viewer if there is any errors. it would be in the category “Windows Logs/Applications”.
There are a lot of entries, so the best thing to do is:
- Start the Event Viewer
- Select Windows Logs/Applications
- Try starting EditVoicepack (it can help to keep track of the time you run it, down to the second)
- In the Event Viewer hit F5 to refresh, then see if any errors are present at the time you tried to launch it or the next 5-10 seconds. And if so, if they relate to EditVoicepack.
If you edit your question and add the error from the event viewer, I might be able to decode it. No promises, but worth trying.
I wasn’t really expecting to get a reply so your response is much appreciated. Yes, Event Viewer lists EVP with an application error when I try to run it. I’m out of my depth trying to make sense of the errors listed. My suspicion was that some updates to AVG Tune Up on 3rd Sept had something to do with the problem as that was around when EVP stopped working. After removing everything AVG related EVP still doesn’t run. It could of course have been a Windows update, which has stopped other things working in the past. Have been planning buying another laptop to replace my old one which no longer works, so will install EVP on it and see if will run it on there. Think that’s probably the only direction to go now, but thanks again for taking the time to try and help.
