Hi Lars,
Longtime user. With EVP XL 6.3.0 licensed and P3d5 (no previous sound modifications), the EVP goes all the way to the end of the update and then generates an error that it can’t write a file. EVP does create two temporary files in the ../SOUND/ATC folder and I checked them with VPEdit and they both look okay:
Evp_L_Fsx_FSX.gvp.evptmp
Evp_L_Fsx_FSX_D1.6.gvp.evtmp
I tied creating a debug log after the error was generated by EVP, but that seemed to take forever so I cancelled it. I’ll try again and email you the logs if I can.
Jay
It definitely should work with the extra voices. I have seen access denied in a few cases, but not this specific problem. The cases I have seen where most likely caused by a problem running EditVoicepack with two different Windows users / but my guess is it is something else here.
If you refer to “Upload to support” then it will indeed take a long time to upload, as it will transfer the voice files – and they are rather large. Still, it is a very useful way for troubleshooting if you would like the extra voices enabled.
I figured it out. On the previous first run I tried adding an extra voice. Without that option, the update worked fine.
