Hi,
I’m surprised this hasn’t been asked already. I know the new MSFS 2020 isn’t built on the same platform as FSX or P3D, but are there plans to introduce Editvoicepack for it? I’ve gotten so accustomed to all of the airports I fly into have their names pronounced with EVP as opposed to their airport codes that it really annoys me.

From my initial findings, there are two modes for ATC speech in MSFS: Using Windows text to speech running on your own computer, or using Azure text to speech (so generated by Microsoft servers).
So far I have not seen a way to hook into this in order to change anything. I understand they went this way. Recordings makes changes really costly (time and/or money, you pick) as soon as you want to modify ATC. And who knows – if they wanted to make a change in 5 years, would the person making the original recording even be available. Hopefully over time, this will allow them to add accents and more voices in general – at least giving us some benefit over the old voice sets.
It is surprising there are words it can’t say. I was expecting to have horrific pronunciation – specifically on non-English names, but not to have something missing, but I did not pay a lot of attention in this area – I was just digging for anything that could be changed and as mentioned – I did not find anything so far.

I was afraid you would say that. It seems as though the game has made progress, yet regressed all at the same time. I have gotten so used to editing airport names with your program that I now cringe when flying into airports that announce the name with it’s ICAO identifier . Ughhh it’s so frustrating.
In any event thanks for your honest response. Hopefully something will change that will allow you to implement your program for MSFS 2020.
